ABOUT THE OWNER
Zdenek Humplik
I’m the tile installer behind Backsplash Tiling. I bring careful planning, precise workmanship, and straightforward communication to homes across the Sea to Sky Corridor.
BUILT ON THE DETAILS
Good tile work starts long before the first tile is set.
For more than ten years, I have worked with homeowners on bathrooms, kitchens, floors, fireplaces, waterproofing, repairs, and custom tile features. Every project begins with the same priorities: a sound surface, a considered layout, and the right installation system for the space.
I believe the work behind the tile matters just as much as the finished surface. That means taking the time to measure carefully, prepare properly, and solve the small details around corners, edges, fixtures, and transitions.
The result should look balanced, feel intentional, and hold up to everyday life.
How I approach every project
No shortcuts, no guesswork. Just clear expectations, proven materials, and close attention from preparation through the final grout line.
01
Plan the layout
Measurements, focal points, grout lines, and cuts are considered before installation begins so the finished room feels balanced.
02
Prepare the surface
Flatness, waterproofing, and the right substrate are essential. I use proven systems, including Schluter products where appropriate.
03
Finish with precision
Consistent spacing, clean cuts, straight lines, and refined edges are what turn a solid installation into a polished result.
Local work, personal responsibility.
I work directly with homeowners throughout Whistler, Squamish, Pemberton, and neighbouring Sea to Sky communities. Being local means understanding the homes, materials, and level of finish expected in the region.
Backsplash Tiling is fully insured and in good standing with WorkSafeBC. From the first conversation to the final clean-up, you know who is responsible for the work and who to call.
